Going Climbin' on Potash Road

Last time I tried to blog, technology was not on my side so I was unable to post anything. I know I'm in the middle of a desert, but come on!! The boys (Jon and Chris) took Todd and I climbing last Tuesday out on Potash Road. This was my first time to climb-- and I did a 'medium' course. It was so much fun and I cannot wait to go again!

Chris and Jon climb up first to set up two routes for the two beginners (me and Todd)

Jon at the top of the rock setting up the route

Chris teaching me about what's going on with my belt and showing me how to tie the figure 8 knot

Here I go on my very first climb!!
Up, up I go! (Slowly, but surely...)
Trying to figure out my next move...

Taking a break to try and get my hair out of my face... haha!

Jon: "Stop and pose!!"
Chris trying to show off his belaying skills while I try to come down off the side of the rock... The boys know how to make me laugh!
Potash Road
Todd and Jon: "We don't want all of your pictures to be butt shots!"
Almost there!
Just a few... more... hard... steps...
Just about to the top!
MADE IT!

Stay tuned for my next blog about my trip to Dead Horse Point, my climb to Corona and Bowtie Arch, my 10 mile hike in Devils Garden, and my day-long trek up to Klondike Bluffs! Right now I don't have time to load all of those pictures... but they will be up soon. :)
